據《CNN》報導，YouTube表示，因為近期川普頻道上的一段影片有煽動暴力疑慮，所以刪除該支影片，並禁止川普官方頻道於未來7天不得上傳影片和開啟直播，而且禁令可能更長。除此之外，YouTube將禁用川普頻道下方的評論功能。
推特、臉書、Instagram等社群平台為防止衝突加劇，因此有限期停止川普帳號發文，但推特進一步永久停用川普帳號，認為其有煽動暴力風險 。而臉書、Instagram的帳號也被臉書執行長祖克柏無限期禁言。
